Movement in the Global South

Across India, movement is rarely only about travel but closely tied to work and livelihood. Bicycles carry goods, handcarts become mobile workspaces, and vehicles are shaped around the trades they support as they move through streets and markets. In cities and smaller towns, transport becomes an extension of the person guiding it, formed by routine and necessity. This short series observes these everyday movements, where the road is a place of work and mobility reflects the rhythms of labour.
